The Sierra Wireless AirLink line of programmable gateways enable customers to add cellular to an existing non-wireless application, or can serve as a platform to create new products.

AirLink programmable modems are supported by the Embedded Application Framework, including Open AT which allows you to leverage a robust programming platform to build your own customized applications.

The Sierra Wireless AirLink™ FXT EDGE programmable modem offers quad-band EDGE connectivity in a ruggedized, encased form factor with external connections.

It allows for integration in a wide range of industrial equipment as an alternative to a full module integration, and eliminates the need for full regulatory and network operator certification. In addition, when integrated with the AirVantage services platform it can also be used as part of a full M2M solution.

It features an open-standard expansion card interface, enabling you to add additional IO connectivity or features like GPS, WiFi, Bluetooth, Zigbee and more. Use Sierra Wireless expansion cards or develop your own. Available off-the-shelf expansion cards from Sierra Wireless include:

• Expansion card GPS+IO
• Expansion card Ethernet
